Scholarships actualize each of SHPE’s mission’s components by increasing student access and support to higher education in STEM programs. Our aim is to bridge the disparities in STEM degrees between Hispanics and their non-Hispanic counterparts.
With over 11,000 active members including over 8,000 student members, SHPE serves 175+ student chapters and 50+ professional chapters. Our primary goal in scholarships is to fill the gap in the Hispanic education pipeline from K-12 education to successful career placement as well as advanced degree offerings in STEM fields.
For the 2018-2019 academic year, SHPE provided over $340,000 in scholarships, and we plan to increase this for the 2019-2020 academic year!
